Following serious injuries, a young man was unable to appear before the Cour municipale de Montr\u00e9al, on the date he had been summoned to do so.<\/p>\n
His mother notified the court of her son\u2019s incapacity and she also sent a written request asking for the postponement of the hearing date. A few days later, however, her son received a Notice of issuance<\/em> of a writ of seizure and a letter informing him that his driver\u2019s license would be suspended by the SAAQ (Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019assurance automobile du Qu\u00e9bec). The citizen complained to the Ombudsman de Montr\u00e9al<\/span>.<\/p>\n For an unknown reason, there was no mention of the steps taken by the mother in her son\u2019s file. Following the intervention of the Ombudsman de Montr\u00e9al<\/span>, the citizen provided evidence to the Cour municipale de Montr\u00e9al of the request for postponement she had sent.<\/p>\n The court corrected the information in her son\u2019s file and a new hearing date was set.
