{"id":847,"date":"2011-11-24T18:31:08","date_gmt":"2011-11-24T23:31:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ombudsmandemontreal.com\/?page_id=847"},"modified":"2011-11-24T18:31:08","modified_gmt":"2011-11-24T23:31:08","slug":"subsidy-promised-%e2%80%93-subsidy-granted-2006","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ombudsmandemontreal.com\/en\/cases-handled\/examples-of-cases-handled\/municipal-subsidies-and-taxes\/subsidy-promised-%e2%80%93-subsidy-granted-2006","title":{"rendered":"Subsidy promised \u2013 Subsidy granted (2006)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The president of a cultural organization complained to the <span class=\"caps-bold \">Ombudsman de Montr\u00e9al<\/span> to obtain a municipal subsidy for the year 2005, for the group she represented.<\/p>\n<p>She explained that in 2004, they had received two different subsidies through a municipal program supporting cultural organizations and that, at the time, Ville de Montr\u00e9al had confirmed they would also receive a subsidy, in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>Our investigation showed that the subsidy program concerned herein was changed dramatically after 2004 and, as a result, the organization no longer meets the eligibility rules.<\/p>\n<p> Notwithstanding the above and because Ville de Montr\u00e9al had confirmed the organization it would receive a subsidy in 2005, Service du d\u00e9veloppement culturel, de la qualit\u00e9 du milieu de vie et de la diversit\u00e9 ethnoculturelle Recommended to the Executive Committee of Ville de Montr\u00e9al to grant to this organization the $2,000 financial support that had been \u201cpromised\u201d.<\/p>\n<p> The Executive Committee of Ville de Montr\u00e9al accepted this Recommendation and the organization did receive the subsidy, retroactively, for 2005.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The president of a cultural organization complained to the Ombudsman de Montr\u00e9al to obtain a municipal subsidy for the year 2005, for the group she represented.
