The Ombudsman de Montréal in a nutshell

The Ombudsman de Montréal: an ally and efficient resource for citizens unsatisfied with a municipal decision and/or service, in Montréal.

The Ombudsman de Montréal offers to citizens who believe they are adversely affected by a decision, act or omission of Ville de Montréal, an easily accessible and free recourse. The Ombudsman may investigate a complaint and determine whether, in her opinion, the citizen has suffered a true prejudice. If such is the case, she will intervene with the City in order to have the decision changed or the situation rectified.

Since the position’s creation, the ombudsman is Ms. Johanne Savard : she was appointed unanimously by the City Council where elected officials from all parties sit and from all of Montreal boroughs.
